Let’s get down to business
This project exemplified the ideal conditions rarely encountered in earthmoving: minimal weather-related delays, high-quality material, and a project team that remained engaged and maintained clear communication with on-site personnel.
Our team completed the following:
- Construction of 2 new pen lanes, road and feed bunkers within existing feedlot;
- Cut/fill area to shape pens, moving 10,000 cubic metres of subgrade;
- Clay cap total pen areas with a 200mm cap to protect subgrade, moving 9,500 cubic metres of clay;
- All surfaces had to be watered, compacted, trimmed and rolled;
- Cut/fill new sediment dam so it was complete once clay capping was removed. Total area had to be shaped, watered, compacted, trimmed and rolled;
- All areas within sediment dam had to have ground surface treatment ensuring they were impermeable;
- Using local gravel, we constructed feed lanes and roads so concrete bunkers and aprons could be poured;
- Construction of new hay pad, new shed pad and surrounds as well as a new induction shed pad
